Westbound on I-70 from Henry County
My typical 50 minute commute to WISH-TV took two and a half hours. My rural road in Rush County hadn’t been plowed by 7:00am , but it’s so remote I didn’t expect it to be. 4WD drive was essential for the seven mile drive to the first state highway. US 40 and SR 109 were just beginning to be cleared but were backfilling with snow quickly. I-70 had one lane cleared but it was still quite slippery, 30 MPH was the top speed and any quick acceleration resulted in some fishtailing. By the time I hit the Keystone/Rural exit, INDOT trucks were lining up in lockstep to clear lanes as the snow had just finished falling.
