Flooding Concerns for Western Indiana
I wanted to point out a trend that has developed over the past several hours. Batches of rain, and what we call deep moisture convergence are stalling from the metro area, westward. The deep moisture if it remains in places for even a few more hours can help re-generate pockets of moderate to heavy rain for a prolonged periods of time.
With that in mind, many places west of Indy are approaching or topping 2″ of rain, so another 1″ – 2″ is not out of the question. Something we will monitor for you, but if you live west of Indy, the flooding situation will continue to deteriorate over the next several hours.
If you live in flood prone areas from the metro area – and places west, please closely monitor developments as water could rise very rapidly. Again, here is the map of the latest Flood Warnings.
