Burton Awakened

I’m suddenly getting more e-mail from Congressman Dan Burton’s office and then today I heard a radio commercial for a seminar he conducts for high school seniors.

Do you think he go the Messer-McGoff-Murphy-McVey wake up call?

Anybody thinking he will run from a fight doesn’t know Dan Burton.

If only he had spent the same amount of energy representing his district than aimlessly pursuing his disconnected notions and misguided obsessions of the Washington beltway.

Dan has certainly received the wake up call he needed. He has also hired some really good consultants.

I am pleased to see that the Republican party is waking up to the disaster that is Dan Burton. Mean, petty, a skirt-chaser, and more than likely corrupt, he has been an embarrassment for years, to quote Newt Gingerich as far back as 1998.

Personally, I would prefer a Democrat in what historically used to be a pretty blue-collar district when it included Kokomo, Marion, and Anderson at the height of their auto-making heydays. But I will accept a moderate, intelligent, and non-doctrinaire Republican, if available.
