Hot and humid weather is here to stay for much of this week. A heat advisory is in effect for the western counties this afternoon. Heat indices could exceed 100 degrees in some areas.

A weak cold front should trigger scattered thunderstorms on Thursday. However, temperatures will only cool down a few degrees. The 6 to 10 day outlook indicates the hot weather continuing into next week.
