July Chill?
The first day of July was cool. High temperatures were only in the upper 60s. The high of 69 degrees in Indianapolis was 16 degrees cooler than average. The average for early July is 85 degrees.
As the cooler air exits, a gradual warm-up arrives.
Highs will be in the lower 80s for Friday and the holiday weekend. The concern for Saturday and Sunday centers around the high pressure not quite getting here.
The high is associated with dry and hot weather. Because the high doesn’t get here, there are storm chances this weekend. As complexes of storms develop out west, they will travel north of the high and our way. We are not forecasting a wash-out, but watch for a storm or two.
