ISTA Building Sold

August 31st, 2009 at 1:41 pm by Jim Shella under Jim Shella's Political Blog

The problems continue at the Indiana State Teachers Association where mismanagement led to financial problems and then layoffs and a lawsuit.

The tenants in the ISTA Center received a letter today notifying them that the National Education Association has purchased the 9-story office building.  Among other things, they were told that new management is on the way but the name of the building won’t change.

Nice Weather To Continue

August 31st, 2009 at 9:00 am by Randy Ollis under Weather

After getting off to a chilly start this morning with many locations down into the 40s, highs this afternoon should rebound into the mid 70s. The weather pattern looks very quiet with no rain expected until possibly this weekend. Enjoy!

A Chilly Start

August 31st, 2009 at 4:46 am by Randy Ollis under Weather

We are getting off to a clear and chilly start across central Indiana this morning. Many spots are down into the 40s. The record low for Indy is 44 degrees. We should see a lot of sunshine and highs into the mid 70s. The normal high is 81 degrees. The Indians are back in town for a game tonight beginning at 7pm.

September should begin on a quiet note with lots of sunshine and a gradual warming trend. Make sure you tune in tomorrow for  our Daybreak Newscast as I will have the stats for our just completed meteorological summer and a look ahead into September. It looks like this summer will end up cooler than normal and way above normal for rainfall.

Temperatures Tumbling

August 30th, 2009 at 11:31 pm by Ken Brewer under Weather

Temperatures in some of the outlying areas are already in the low 50’s before the midnight!

adi_temps23

With that in mind, lows should be on track to the upper to mid 40’s.  Again the record low for tomorrow morning is 44° set back in 1915.  A jacket is a good idea for the kids tomorrow morning.

Near-Record Lows Tonight?

August 30th, 2009 at 6:06 pm by Ken Brewer under Weather

TONIGHT: Clouds will thin out as the upper-level low loses it’s grip after daytime heating.  Combine that with light winds and cool air in place, we could get close to the record low of 44 set back in 1915.

MONDAY: High pressure will still be anchored to our NW, so we will see cool NE wind, and the fall-like weather continues.  Highs will be a few degrees higher, but only hit the low 70’s.

EXTENDED OUTLOOK: Cool weather will last most of the week.  Highs will stay below 80 until Thursday.  There may be some chances of rain by next weekend, nut that may change in the days ahead.

Mid-Morning Weather Update

August 30th, 2009 at 10:04 am by Ken Brewer under Weather

The thick low deck of clouds has broken up a bit and we should see the cumulus field of clouds mix with sun the rest of the day.  Temperatures have risen nicely with more sunshine, and we should hit upper 60’s and lower 70’s this afternoon.
