5th District GOP congressional candidate John McGoff issued a news release today detailing his support for the troop surge in Afghanistan ordered by President Obama. 

In the release, McGoff points out that he has been to Afghanistan as a colonel in the Air National Guard (a way to play up his military experience, something the other 4 Republicans in the race don’t have) and makes clear his view that Obama is taking ownership for the war now and can no longer blame the Bush Administration. 

McGoff also praises Bush for preventing any attacks on U.S. soil after September 11th.
