The Indiana Democratic Party is sending direct mail to voters in the 9th Congressional district that call Libertarian Greg Knott “The most conservative candidate for Congress.”  The mailing includes a picture of Knott and positions on issues taken from the Knott campaign website.

It’s an obvious attempt to encourage conservatives to vote for Knott rather than Republican Todd Young.  Libertarians generally draw from the Republican base but Knott, an environmentalist, has been targeting Democrat Baron Hill with his advertising.

For Democrats, it’s a strategy that suggests Baron Hill is in trouble.
