Lugar Popular

The Lugar for Senate folks are distributing an independent poll that shows Richard Lugar with a 60% approval rating.  That’s lower than what Lugar received a year ago.

Lugar supporters, however, believe it shows that he has withstood the attacks from the Tea Party and challenger Richard Mourdock.

It’s still early, however.

These numbers may fluctuate in the next 14 months, but I would estimate that when the final tally is counted next May, Lugar’s polling will still be pretty close to 60%. Dick may very well be the best US Senator Indiana has ever had! His tenure reflects this. And furthermore, Mr. Mourdock’s challenge reflects the tea partier’s poor political skills. They would have been far better off to attempt to work with Lugar on the issues they feel he is out of line on, rather than put up a candidate to run against him. REAL Republicans follow Ronald Reagan’s 11th Commandment. I missed Ann on IWIR last week, I was really hoping she would be there to defend her husband, but I guess they must share that “flight gene”?

Ann was ill last week. She will be there this week.
