Judge Rules Charlie White can Stay (for now)January 4th, 2012 at 9:44 am by Jim Shella under Jim Shella's Political Blog
Secretary of State Charlie White will remain in office pending the appeal of a judge’s order to remove him.
White won a ruling this morning from Judge Louis Rosenberg who now says the Republican can keep his elected position pending an appeal of the December order that found him ineligible to be on the ballot in 2010. The Democratic Party sued calling for White’s removal alleging voter fraud. Rosenberg today denied a Democratic request that called for Vop Osili, the Democratic Party candidate in 2010, to replace White if he is convicted in a criminal trial scheduled for later this month, or if he resigns.
