There were 2 minor earthquakes felt in southwestern Indiana Thursday evening.  One was a magnitude 2.7 and the other was a magnitude 3.1.  Any earthquake below a 4 is considered minor.  These earthquakes occurred in the Wabash Valley Seismic Zone and is north of the New Madrid Fault.  Some may remember the April 2008 earthquake that shook most of central Indiana and it was a 5.2 magnitude.  5.2 is considered a moderate earthquake.
