Governor hails job numbers, drinks lemonade
Indiana’s unemployment rate has dropped by 3 tenths of a percent and is now below 8% for the first time since 2008. The rate is 7.9%.
Governor Mitch Daniels said it’s the result of job growth across the state. He made comments while attending a Lemonade Day event on the Statehouse lawn. He says the state led the country in private sector job growth in April with growth six times the national rate. “It has to mean something that for a year now we’ve been growing twice the national average,” said Daniels, “a number that big must mean some positive momentum.”
By the way, 15,000 young people will learn entrepreneurship across Indiana this weekend with lemonade stands that lead to profits and charitable contributions.
