Democratic candidate for governor John Gregg is bashing Republican Mike Pence’s record again today.  Gregg appeared at the Statehouse along with running mate Vi Simpson and former Congressman Baron Hill.

He again referenced a 20 year old book that was written, in part, by Pence.  In the book titled “Indiana Mandate” there is a call for an 8 year term limit in Congress.  Pence has now served there for 12 years.  “Not one bill filed on term limits, not even one itty bitty little amendment has ever been filed on term limits,” said Gregg, “and that’s the article they say is his and he takes ownership on.”

Gregg also said that no legislation authored by Pence has become law.

A spokeswoman for Pence says the 8 year term limit was attributed to another author in the book.  She says Pence supports term limits but has not filed a bill because of a Supreme Court ruling that found term limits to be unconstitutional.
