Rain Totals – Heat Wave Breaks

June 21st, 2012 at 10:34 pm by under Colts Forecast, Weather

Most of the steady rain that fell on Thursday fell north of I-70.  Storm Tracker estimates rain totals near an inch from Marion to Kokomo to between Lafayette and Crawfordsville.  Northern Hamilton county had about .25″ of rain and the southern part of that county near Carmel only had .05″-.10″.  No rain fell at the airport in Indianapolis, so our total stands at 05″ for the month and about 3″ below average.  Rain chances will end overnight and forecast lows are in the 60s.  The heat wave is over, as highs will be in the 80s on Friday and Saturday.

High temperatures will near 90 degrees on Sunday, but only for 1 day.  There is another chance for rain later Sunday night and Monday.  More mild air is in the forecast too, with highs in the upper 70s and lower 80s early next week.
