A Mild Day Today, Brutal Heat Ahead!

June 26th, 2012 at 5:21 am by under Weather

TODAY: I bumped highs into the mid-80s today after the “cooler” air that was supposed to arrive yesterday, did not result in the anticipated cool-down.  Having said that it should be cooler than yesterday.  Highs will reach the mid 80s this afternoon with 100% sunshine!

THIS EVENING / INDIANS GAME:  It should be another pleasant evening no matter if you are going to the Indians game at 7:05 or for any other activities.  Temperatures will stay in the 70s for most of the evening.

OVERNIGHT: Temperatures will drop into the low 60s overnight tonight before the heat blast begins Wednesday.

WEDNESDAY:  The first part of the heat blast from the Plains states will arrive Wednesday.  Highs will skyrocket into the low to mid 90s.

8-DAY OUTLOOK…RECORD HEAT THURSDAY? We will go ahead and put triple digit heat in the forecast for Thursday, and that will challenge not only the record high for Thursday, but the all-time record high for the month of June.  Highs should reach at least 100° some places may be a few degrees hotter!  Temperatures will back off a few degrees Friday and Saturday, but for now, the 90s will last through the middle of next week!
