Heat Wave Continues

June 28th, 2012 at 6:08 pm by under Colts Forecast, Weather

Today’s high of 104 degrees is the hottest June day ever.  Before today, it was 102 in 1988.  The last time it was 104 degrees was July 14, 1954.  An excessive heat warning remains in effect until 8pm Friday.

Skies will be clear overnight, with lows in the 70s.  Highs will still be near 100 degrees on Friday afternoon.  The heat wave continues through the weekend, with highs in the range of 95-100 degrees.

There is only a slight chance for a stray shower or storm Friday – Sunday.  We need rain, but we will not get the soaking rain to relieve the drought conditions.  Central Indiana is now in a severe drought.
