Excessive Heat, Strong Storms for the Weekend
TODAY: A lot to track for you in central Indiana this weekend. After complexes of thunderstorms rolled in central and northern parts of the state, the weather will re-focus on heat for the first part of the day, then storms and heat this afternoon. An Excessive Heat Warning is in place areas south and west of Indianapolis, and a Heat Advisory from Indianapolis and areas north. Heat Index values could range from 100-115!
THIS EVENING: The second wave of thunderstorms will cool off temps again…areas that have no rain will be stuck in the 90s for a good part of the evening.
OVERNIGHT: We could see scattered storms overnight with lows in the 70s.
SUNDAY: More of the same….excessive heat and scattered strong thunderstorms. Highs will range form the mid 90s to low 100s. Heat Index values could get as high as 115°
8-DAY FORECAST: Isolated thunderstorms are possible through Tuesday. Heat isn’t really going anywhere. Highs should stay in the mid to upper 90s through the 4th of July and through next weekend! We have to bump these numbers up a bit over the next several days.
