Daniels says tax refunds will exceed expectations
If you’re an Indiana taxpayer there’s a hundred dollars coming your way.
Governor Mitch Daniels revealed today that the state had a $2 billion surplus when the fiscal year ended on Sunday. That triggers a new automatic refund that will go to about 3 million taxpayers as a credit on their 2013 tax form. It will be at least a $100 for a single filer and $200 for joint filers. “In the previous year the median income tax payment by a Hoosier was $819,” said Daniels, “so what we can say today, there’ll be a double digit discount.”
The governor also predicted a $2 billion surplus at the end of the 2013 budget.
