Did John Gregg direct a slur at Mike Pence?

“There’s nobody that’s been a bigger Teabagger than Congressman Pence.”  That was John Gregg’s quote in an interview last week with Gary Snyder on WBAT in Marion.  It caught some listeners off guard because Tea Party members object to the term Gregg used.  (If you don’t understand why, look it up in the Urban Dictionary.)  Anderson Cooper once apologized for using it.

So what’s the fallout?

The Pence campaign says simply, “We don’t respond to name calling.” Even if it’s a vulgar name?

The Gregg campaign is playing dumb, responding to questions with documentation of Pence ties to the Tea Party and a refusal to acknowledge that the term might be objectionable.  Could it be that the loafers at the Blue Jay are so naive, they don’t see the error?
