State revenues above forecast in September

The September report of state tax revenues is in and the total is almost $51 million above the projection.  That’s 1.5% ahead of the most recent revenue forecast.  That makes the year-to-date total 5.2% above forecast and is the reason why yesterday Governor Mitch Daniels predicted another $2 billion dollar surplus at the end of the fiscal year next July.

Look for somebody to ask if we are saving too much, and not spending enough.
