An Active Weather Pattern For Christmas Travel

December 22nd, 2012 at 6:53 pm by under Colts Forecast, Weather

Cold temperatures are found across central Indiana this afternoon.  Wind chill values are even lower, in the teens in some locations.  Tonight’s lows fall into the upper teens and 20s.  Icy conditions possible again.  Sunday our temps increase a bit to the upper 30s and lower 40s.

Sunday we stay dry with more sunshine.  Clouds roll in late in the day.  Overnight into Monday morning a rain and snow mix will move into the Ohio Valley.  This may make holiday travel difficult for Christmas Eve.  No accumulation is expected from this system.

A second system will track into Indiana Tuesday night/Wednesday/Thursday morning.  Snow showers are likely with decent accumulation.  Too early to pinpoint any estimated snow totals, but stay tuned to Forecast 8 for updates on this significant system.
