Tracking Changing Weather AheadFebruary 25th, 2013 at 5:05 pm by Ken Brewer under Weather
THIS EVENING: Enjoy the nice evening, as we will see more high clouds move in. Temperatures will stay in the 30s.
OVERNIGHT: Storm system to our SW will race in late overnight. I would say around 4am at this point we could see precipitation start. There may be some sleet mixing with rain at first, and that could cause problems for the morning commute with a few slick spots, but it should quickly change to all rain for most of the metro area.
TUESDAY: There could be a wintry mix in northern parts of our area late Tuesday, which is why the National Weather Service has put a Winter Weather Advisory for some of our northern counties beginning at 4am and lasting until 10am. Most of the area will see rain and it will be heavy at times. Temps will climb to near 40°.
WEDNESDAY: As colder air moves in, precipitation will change back to snow and we will see snow showers off and on all day Wednesday. Most of the viewing area could see around 1″ of snow, while northern parts of our area (Kokomo, Hartford City may see up to 3″ by late Wednesday and Thursday as some Lake Effect snow will arrive.
8-DAY FORECAST: More snow showers Thursday into early Friday. The weekend will be dry, but chilly. Colder air will linger into the first week of March.
