U.S. 31 Lane Restriction, Traffic Stops Sunday Night
Greyhound Pass West of U.S. 31 Closing for 30 Days
WESTFIELD, Ind. – Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) contractors plan to restrict the right lane of southbound U.S. 31 Sunday night to install an overhead sign truss.
The right lane of southbound U.S. 31 will be restricted between 169th and 161st streets beginning at 10 p.m. Sunday, July 21. Contractors may require stopping traffic on northbound and southbound U.S. 31 after midnight for up to 20 minutes at a time. All restrictions are expected to be complete by 4 a.m. Monday.
Rieth-Riley Construction, the INDOT contractor for the $58 million project to upgrade U.S. 31 to freeway standards between 146th and 169th streets, plans to close Greyhound Pass from U.S. 31 west to Greyhound Court for approximately 30 days beginning Saturday, July 20. The official signed detour will route eastbound traffic south on Western Way to 146th Street and will route westbound traffic north on U.S. 31 to 151st Street.
The closure of Greyhound Pass will allow for construction of the “split diamond” ramp system with U.S. 31 that will connect Greyhound Pass to 151st and 146th streets.
