Rep. Pelath wants answers in Tony Bennett scandalOctober 15th, 2013 at 11:12 am by Jim Shella under Jim Shella's Political Blog
Indiana House Minority Leader Scott Pelath wants to know why an investigation of former state school Superintendent Tony Bennett hasn’t been completed.
Pelath says Inspector General Dave Thomas had plenty of time to conduct an investigation that began in August. Thomas is looking into the scandal that stems from a changed school grade for the Christel House Academy. It was part of a scandal that led Bennett to give up his job as Education Commissioner in Florida.
“Why did they do it?” asked Pelath. “Why did they pick the winner in advance? They haven’t answered that question. Somebody needs to get the answer to that. They’re not gonna tell me. Maybe they’ll tell David O. Thomas.”
Thomas is scheduled to testify before a legislative committee this afternoon.
