Rainy system on the way. Will some see snow?October 22nd, 2013 at 2:31 pm by Robb Ellis under Weather
The Alberta clipper system we’ve been watching today has moved into Illinois and is bringing a mix of rain and snow to the Chicago area. That same system will enter Indiana this afternoon and evening.
Temperatures have remain chilly through the day. Sunshine earlier helped to warm the numbers into the upper 40s and low 50s, but as clouds have rolled in, the warming has slowed down.
Rain showers are likely through the evening, and we’ll very carefully to watch and see if any snow will mix in. It’s likely that locations north of Indy will see a few flakes mix in, but until temperatures cool overnight, accumulation is not likely. By the time it cools enough for accumulation, most of the moisture will have exited.
