A Drier Day For Trick-Or-TreatingNovember 1st, 2013 at 6:47 am by Pamela Gardner under Weather
The wind gust reports from yesterday are impressive! Muncie has the highest report with 75 mph-that’s hurricane force and also equal to a weak tornado! Indy reported a 58 mph wind gust. Thank goodness the forecast cooperates with us today for the postponed trick-or-treat times.
This morning our temperatures are cooler in the 40s. There is still a breeze between 5 and 15 mph in most places. The clouds slowly thin out this afternoon, becoming partly sunny and it stays breezy. Highs reach the mid to upper 60s. High school football this evening for The Zone is going to be chilly but at least dry. Lows tonight dip into the lower 40s.
This weekend our highs both days reach the lower 50s. A small system brings us a chance for sprinkles Saturday, mostly sunny skies by Sunday. A slight warm up kicks in as we begin the next week. Then another strong system moves in by next Wednesday.
Record set in Indianapolis:
A new record is set for October 31st in Indy with a 24 hour rainfall total of 2.01″. The old record was 1.30″ set in 1941. 2013 will also go down in history as the rainiest Halloween in central Indiana.
