Sleet In Northern & Western Indiana

December 5th, 2013 at 9:07 am by under Weather

Sleet is moving in to the western and northern part of the state already.  A light glazing of ice is possible on elevated surfaces as the sleet moves northeast through the state.  Terre Haute, Crawfordsville, and Lafayette are already getting the ice.  This is just the start to our winter weather.

This evening a Winter Storm warning and Winter Weather Advisory go into effect through Friday night.  Most of the wintry weather moves in this evening and then again Friday afternoon and evening.  The sleet & freezing rain come first this evening with ice accumulation between .10″ and .25″ by midnight tonight.  Then the snow accumulation takes over for Friday morning and again Friday afternoon/evening.  Indy could see 4″ to 7″ of snow when it’s all said and done.
