Evening Snow…Then Bitter Cold Takes OverDecember 6th, 2013 at 5:58 pm by Pamela Gardner under Weather
We are tracking more light snow this evening. Drier air is trying to punch into areas north of I-70 early, but we should squeeze out up to an inch of additional snowfall in the next couple of hours around Indy and areas just north. The snowfall to the south will still add another 2″ to 5″ of additional accumulation through tonight. The snow ends slowly from north to south tonight. The clearing skies return by daybreak Saturday. Bitter cold takes over.
Temperatures are in the 20s now. Tonight’s lows dip into the lower teens and in the single digits for some, especially to the north of Indianapolis. Highs for Saturday only reach the lower 20s, but at least we will have sunshine. Temps increase just a bit for Sunday reaching the lower 30s.
Our next wave of winter weather moves in Sunday through Monday morning. A wintry mix is possible first, then as temps fall some minor snow accumulation takes over by Monday morning. Stay tuned for further updates from the Forecast 8 Team.
