Look At Sunday Winter Weather SystemDecember 7th, 2013 at 9:44 am by Ken Brewer under Colts Forecast, Weather
Here is a breakdown of the winter weather system arriving Sunday. This will be a much weaker system than Friday’s, but ice could be a big threat.
SUNDAY MORNING: A surge of milder air (relatively speaking) will move in from the south. Along that line, scattered snow showers will develop in the morning and quickly move north. These should be light and produce minor accumulations. Temps will climb into the 20s during the morning.
SUNDAY AFTERNOON: Warmer air will continue to move into the state. The air near the ground will still be below freezing. There will be a mix of very light snow showers combined with some freezing drizzle / sleet, could make roads slick. Again, snowfall will not be heavy, it will be the freezing drizzle that could cause the biggest problems. Meanwhile, in Cincinnati, freezing rain will mix with sleet and snow, which will be uncomfortable for the game, and making roads slick for those traveling to the game.
SUNDAY EVENING / NIGHT: More of the same. There will be a light wintry mix possible in the evening. All activity looks to end just after midnight, or by 2am. Snow totals should be 1″ or less in most places, but the thin layer of ice could be the biggest problem.
