Latest on Rain / Flooding Threat This Weekend

SUMMARY: A strong weather system will bring gradually heavy rain to parts of central Indiana.  The heaviest rain will arrive this afternoon and this evening.  Some thunderstorms in southern and SE Indiana could have damaging wind.

WATCHES / WARNINGS: All of the WISH-TV viewing area is under a Flood Watch until Sunday Morning.  Almost all area rivers and streams are expected to flood, so if you live in Flood Plain, watch for rising water.

TODAY:  Steady rain will transition to heavier rain during the course of the day and the evening. The heaviest rain should last through the Midnight hour.

OVERNIGHT:  Heavier rain will gradually become scattered lighter showers, but the flood threat will continue.

SUNDAY:  Scattered light rain showers may mix with flurries and snow showers.  No snow accumulation is expected.  Temps will fall into the 30s late in the day.


8-DAY FORECAST: Colder air will linger through Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.  The next chance of snow showers will be Thursday night into Friday.
