Would you like to see snow on Christmas Day? You may get your chance, although it looks like accumulation will remain low. In the mean time, brutally cold air is invading central Indiana with single-digit temps expected by morning.

Tonight:Lows will drop into the single digits thanks to brisk northwest winds. Flurries may continue through the early morning hours, but some clearing could be possible by daybreak. Some flooded streets from this weekend’s rainfall may have an additional problem receding due to freezing conditions. Icy roads will be a concern through Christmas Eve.

Christmas Eve:
Very cold with highs in the low 20s. Some of the day may see full sunshine. Otherwise, partly cloudy. Clouds increase late in the evening and overnight. Lows in the mid 10s.

Christmas Day:
Snow showers will be possible in the morning through midday, with temperatures warming up slightly. Highs near freezing. Another round of isolated snow showers could be possible in the evening. Light accumulation of a dusting to 1/2″ is possible from Indy and points to the north.

Rest of this week:
Partly cloudy and cold. Highs in the mid 30s. Lows in the 10s.

Saturday and Sunday:
Warmer for Saturday with highs in the low 40s. Partly cloudy skies. Cooler for Sunday with highs in the low 30s. Lows near 20.

Next week:
Very cold air arrives yet again with highs in the 20s and lows in the 10s.
