Brutal Cold, Snow Showers This Morning, Any Snow for Christmas?

December 24th, 2013 at 5:08 am by under Colts Forecast, Weather

THIS MORNING: Bitter cold temperatures, win chill  values below zero and scattered snow showers.  Be extremely careful if you have to head out this morning.

REST OF TODAY: The bitter cold will linger, but the snow showers should move out.  Highs will only reach the upper teens to lower 20s.

THIS EVENING:   Temperatures will stabilize a bit this evening and settle in the mid-teens.

OVERNIGHT:  Welcoming Santa in will be a chilly task.  Temps will stay in the mid-teens.  There may be some flurries or snow showers developing by morning.

WHITE CHRISTMAS?  Another little clipper will slide into Indiana during Christmas Day.  We will see pockets of flurries and snow showers.  There is not a ton of moisture around, but there could be some minor accumulations, especially the farther north you go.  Even those places should be under 1″.

8-DAY FORECAST:  Milder air will build in as we get to the end of the week.  The warmest day will be Saturday, with highs in the 40s.  After that, more arctic air will spill down.  That transition could mean snow showers Sunday, then more pesky snow showers with bitter cold for the first half of next week.
