Another Round Of Snow & Getting Very ColdJanuary 20th, 2014 at 6:07 pm by Pamela Gardner under Colts Forecast, Weather
Snow showers are north and west of Indiana now. Isolated snow showers move in this evening. The steady snow and accumulation begins after midnight. The snow sticks around through Tuesday afternoon and slowly tapers off to a few flurries. Some lake effect snow showers are possible Tuesday afternoon too.
A Winter Weather Advisory goes into effect for much of the eastern and southern parts of the state 1am to 11am Tuesday. We expect 1″ to 3″ of snowfall with some places getting 3″ or more in southeastern Indiana.
The wind picks up behind this system. Blowing & drifting snow will occur daybreak Tuesday and through the entire afternoon. The wind will be between 15 and 20 mph from the north with gusts up to 30 mph.
Temperatures really take a dive tonight. We go from the 30s now, to the teens tonight. With the wind it will feel like 0º to -10º Tuesday morning.
Temps stay cold with lows below zero and highs in the teens for this week. Another round of snow is possible for Wednesday with minor accumulation.
