More Snow & Dangerous ColdJanuary 22nd, 2014 at 7:40 pm by Pamela Gardner under Colts Forecast, Weather
Snow showers are moving through central Indiana. A cold front (another clipper) will push through this evening, giving us snow chances into late tonight. Flurries taper off into Thursday. Lake effect may enhance some of the snow showers in northern Indiana and there is a winter weather advisory in those places until 10am Thursday. 1″ to 2″ of snow is possible in northern Indiana, along with blowing and drifting snow.
Temperatures are cold in the teens with the wind chill it feels like around 0º. Lows tonight dip below zero in most places. The wind becomes stronger, from the west between 10 and 20 mph, gusting up to 30 mph. As we factor in the wind chill, those temps will be between -10 and -25º. A wind chill advisory is in effect 1am Thursday to noon Friday.
High temps won’t bring much relief Thursday as we only get into the single-digits and lower teens. Again the wind will make it feel like -10 to -25º all day. Friday, mostly sunny with highs in the teens. This weekend there is another chance for snow. Saturday morning we could get 1″ to 3″ of accumulation. Sunday evening another round of snow moves through with again minor accumulation. Temps stay cold and way below the average high of 36º through the 8-day forecast.
