More Snow Tonight, Record-Breaking???February 15th, 2014 at 7:21 am by Ken Brewer under Weather
RECORD-BREAKER SNOW TONIGHT? After the 5.5″ snow fall total at the airport, we are only 0.5″ away from reaching the record for snowiest winter! Most of today will be quiet, but the leading edge of milder air will usher in more snow showers, but that should arrive in the evening and overnight. Right now, it looks like we could see 1″-2″ snowfall for all the viewing area. If this happens, it will break the record for snowiest winter!
TODAY: It should be quiet, but cold during the day. Temps will struggle to reach the mid-20s this afternoon.
SNOWY EVENING? This system looks to arrive this evening, so anytime after 7pm could see snow showers arrive, so if you are trying to make up for a missed Valentine’s dinner last night, you may have to drive through snow showers this evening.
OVERNIGHT: Snow should move out by Daybreak Sunday. Lows will drop into the teens in most spots.
SUNDAY: The rest of Sunday will be slightly milder. Highs will range from mid-20s north to mid 30s south.
8-DAY FORECAST: Temps will slowly get milder, but it will take awhile due to the snow pack on the ground. In fact there may be some foggy mornings ahead. Monday will see some rain showers, and maybe a few snow showers mixed in. We should get to 50 by Thursday. Temps will stay mild until Sunday, when some colder air will return late in the day.
