Temps climb out of the deep freeze, and snow returnsFebruary 26th, 2014 at 6:36 pm by Robb Ellis under Weather
Temperatures will move from the single digits to near freezing by the weekend, but that will complicate a couple of wintry systems that arrive this weekend.
Clear and cold. Low near 5.
Another sunny day with cold temperatures. Highs in the mid 10s. Lows in the single digits again.
Temperatures will warm into the 20s by the the afternoon with clouds on the increase throughout the day. A weak snow system is expected to arrive late Friday night, but light accumulation is expected. About an inch of snow could be possible as the system wraps up by Saturday morning.
Snow may be ongoing in the morning from Friday night’s weak clipper, but most of Saturday will be precipitation-free. Highs temperatures will return to freezing or perhaps slightly above.
Sunday and Monday:
A more potent system arrives early Sunday morning. While the system has ample moisture, the temperature profile makes this a difficult forecast. A Wintry mix may be possible, but slight changes in the temperatures (colder or warmer) will make the difference in heavy accumulating snow and heavy rain. Highs in the low 30s.
Wintry mix may continue through the evening and overnight into Monday. A changeover to snow is possible by Monday as temperatures drop back into the 20s.
Cold temperatures but clear skies return with highs in the 20s and lows near 10 degrees.
