Updated Snow PotentialMarch 1st, 2014 at 4:41 pm by Pamela Gardner under Weather
We have backed off on snow totals a bit based on the latest forecast information. From south of Crawfordsville to south of Muncie, expect 4″ to 8″ of snow. North of that line, 2″ to 4″ of snow. South of Bloomington to Columbus line we will see 4″ to 8″ of snow with some ice. All forecast models (GFS, NAM, EURO, Canadian, etc.) have the track of the system farther south and have drier air punching farther south, quicker which equals lesser snow totals.
A winter storm warning is in effect from 7pm tonight to 7am Monday. A winter weather advisory is posted for the northern parts of the state for 10pm tonight through 1am Monday.
The system is sitting to the north and will slowly sink southward tonight. Notice our temps really vary depending on where you are. Indy has 47º. Lafayette and Kokomo are already in the 20s. The 20 degree temps will sink southward throughout the evening. So we do expect a brief wintry mix, changing to snow overnight.
