Enjoy the 60s while you can!March 10th, 2014 at 4:23 pm by Robb Ellis under Weather
Big changes are coming. If you haven’t enjoyed the temperatures near 60 on Monday, you’ll have one more chance this week, before winter returns. By Wednesday, temperatures will drop dramatically and bring snow likely to accumulate.
Windy and mild. Lows in the low 40s.
Another warm day, and likely the last one of the week. Highs will top out around 60 degrees. Big changes come late Tuesday night with rain arriving around midnight. Lows in the upper 20s.
Temperatures will continue dropping for most of Wednesday, likely starting in the upper 20s to low 30s and dropping through the 20s during the day, reaching the 10s late Wednesday night.
Rain early Wednesday morning will change over to snow just before daybreak. Some accumulation is likely. This will impact the morning commute but road temperatures may have warmed slightly from the previous few warm days. However, it may not hold off the snow accumulation for long until road temperatures cool and a messy commute could be possible.
For the Indianapolis metro area, 1 to 3″ of snow could be possible, with the heaviest amounts to the north. Up to 3 to 6″ of snow is possible north of Indianapolis, closer to Fort Wayne. South of Indy, amounts will be lighter, likely around an inch.
Highs will be stuck in the 30s with lows in the 20s. Partly cloudy skies.
Friday and Saturday:
A return to more “normal” temperatures. Highs near 50 and lows near 30. Partly to mostly cloudy skies.
