Flooding and severe weather possible tonightApril 3rd, 2014 at 6:42 pm by Robb Ellis under Weather
With several inches of rain already fallen across much of central Indiana, any additional rain is only going to make flooding worse. Heavy rain is expected tonight and additional flooding will be likely.
Heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms will move in this evening, bringing heavy rain, lightning and the possibility of gusty winds. While our biggest concern is flooding, damaging winds and isolated tornadoes could be possible overnight. An additional 1 to 3″ of rain will be possible.
Temperatures will drop from the 60s into the 50s overnight, but should remain mild. Most of the heaviest rain will wrap up by daybreak.
A much quieter day, but a few showers and storms may be ongoing at the very early start of the day. Showers will taper off through midday, but clouds linger. Highs will be in the mid 50s with very windy conditions during the afternoon. Temperatures will drop into the 30s overnight.
Both Saturday and Sunday look much drier, but the flooding threat from swollen rivers will be ongoing. Temperatures will be in the mid 50s for Saturday and near 60 for Sunday. Overnight lows will stay in the 30s.
Rain returns on Monday and lingers into Tuesday. Highs will be slightly cooler, staying in the upper 40s to near 50 through the first half of the week.
