Frost Possible Overnight; Warmer Temps Arrive SoonMay 17th, 2014 at 6:51 pm by Pamela Gardner under Colts Forecast, Weather
Current temps are in the 50s across central Indiana. Tonight’s lows dip into the mid and upper 30s for the northeastern half of the state. The lower 40s for the southwestern half. With temps dipping so low, we have the chance for patchy frost. Mostly clear skies and a light breeze will help to allow that frost to develop during the daybreak hours of Sunday. A Frost Advisory is in effect for the southeastern corner of the state 3am to 10am Sunday. Cover those sensitive plants or bring them indoors before bed!
Spotty showers and sprinkles will continue to dry up as the sun sets. Sunday we still have a chance for some sprinkles and partly sunny skies, but not expecting the showers like we had today. High temps reach the upper 60s.
Warmer temps take over for next week as we reach the 70s and 80s. Looking ahead to mid-week, a system will stall out over the Ohio Valley, giving Indiana repeated chances for storms and showers. Hopefully this system gets out of here by race day Sunday, but for now we keep a chance for rain in. Stay tuned.
