This week is certainly going to be much warmer than last as temps in the low 80s have returned to the area. While the sun is with us now, the chance for storms is not far behind. Stormy weather is expected for Wednesday with some strong to severe storms before sunshine returns just in time for the Indianapolis 500 weekend. Expect temps to remain north of 75 throughout the forecast.
Mild and breezy with southwest winds continuing at 5 to 10 mph. Some thunderstorms may develop in northern Indiana. There is a slight risk of severe storms to the north. Lows will be mild in the mid 60s.
A system will pass from the north to the south across Indiana Tuesday night into Wednesday. A slight risk of severe weather is in place over central Indiana for Wednesday with strong to severe storms possible on Wednesday afternoon. The main threats associated with these storms will likely be wind and hail. These storms should be scattered in nature. High 81. Lows near 60.
Some lingering clouds remain in the area following Wednesday as we are expecting to see partly cloudy skies. The system that passed will bring cooler temperatures as we expect temperatures near 75. Lows should be in the mid-50s.
Sunshine should dominate your Friday forecast and cooler temperatures are shaping up for a great start to your weekend. Expect a high near 76 with lows again in the mid-50s.
Saturday (500 Festival Parade):
Mostly sunny skies and temperatures near 80 should make it a great day for the parade. Dew points rise in the afternoon but should remain comfortable for the parade. We should see an afternoon high near 78 with lows in the upper 50s.
Sunday (Indy 500):
Partly sunny skies will make for great race weather, however dew points look like they could make things a little uncomfortable as they are forecasted to rise above 60. All indications are that conditions should remain dry throughout the race. Conditions will warm up with an afternoon high of 80 with lows around 60.
Scattered storms re-enter the forecast as temps remain warm with highs topping out in the low 80s and lows right around 60.
