Severe Storms Possible TodayMay 21st, 2014 at 5:30 am by Pamela Gardner under Colts Forecast, Weather
Right now: We are nice and dry and warm with temps in the 60s and lower 70s. A warm front is to the north of us and that is where we find strong thunderstorms. That boundary will sag to the south today, and that will help to trigger scattered storms later on.
Timing: Forecast 8 Futurecast has isolated pop up storms in central Indiana by late this afternoon. At 7pm more storms will be right across the heart of the state.
Risk: Most of Indiana has a slight risk for severe storms today. The biggest threat will be large hail. Damaging wind and an isolated tornado are also possible.
Extended: High temps today reach the upper 70s and lower 80s. Thursday’s temps cool off a tad into the upper 70s and the humidity will be lower. This race weekend is looking perfect! Carb Day on Friday, mostly sunny and highs in the upper 70s. Parade Day Saturday in the upper 70s with plenty of sunshine. Race Day Sunday will be around 80º with partly cloudy skies.
