As we get ever closer to the official start of summer we are beginning to see more seasonable conditions. Along with warmer temperatures a familiar weather pattern joins as well, afternoon and evening thunderstorms. Throughout the forecast high temps in the low to mid 80s are expected with more than a few chances for these heat drive pop up storms. If you were looking for better news than just the warm temperatures we have that as well, as of now the weekend looks to be dry with the next chance for rain arriving late Sunday.
Some lingering storms are expected to continue this evening, however as the sun goes away the vast majority of these storms will die off. Expect mostly clear skies in the overnight with a low of 67.
Wednesday will allow us to continue this week’s weather pattern of warm days, mild nights, and thunderstorms possible in the afternoon and evening. We should see more in the way of sustained storms across the area, some of which may have frequent lightning and heavy downpours. Severe weather is not expected. The high should top out near 82.
Thursday will be almost a carbon copy of Wednesday, warm temps in the low 80s with afternoon and evening thunderstorms. The overall chance of storms for Thursday is located more to the south and to a lesser degree in central Indiana than for Wednesday. Expect a high of 81 with a low of 65.
We kick off the weekend on the right foot as we say goodbye to the rain chances and hello to sun and warmth. Partly cloud skies are expected for Friday with a high of 83 and low of 64.
Mostly sunny skies will make Saturday very enjoyable as we warm up to a high of 84 after starting the day off with a low of 63.
Sunday will see the return of more clouds to the area ahead of our next chance for rain on Monday. Temps will be in the mid 80s with lows in the mid 60s. Some rain showers and thunderstorms may be possible in the evening.
Expect a return to the warm and stormy pattern as we start the work week. Temperatures will remain in the mid-80s with lows in the upper 60s.
