A Warm, Humid, Stormy WeekJune 15th, 2014 at 6:54 pm by Pamela Gardner under Colts Forecast, Weather
Right now we have mostly cloudy skies and temps are warm in the 80s in most areas. The wind is strong from the southwest between 15 and 25 mph.
Scattered thunderstorms are expected to pop up in the next couple of hours across eastern Illinois and western Indiana. As they first develop, they could become severe. There is a slight risk for severe storms for western and the northwestern corner of Indiana tonight. Damaging wind & hail are the main threats with maybe a spin up tornado. Once the storms advance to the east towards Indianapolis, they should be below severe limits. Still, all of Indiana could get strong winds, small hail and very heavy rainfall along with lightning.
The storm chances remain off and on in our forecast tonight and through Monday evening. Overnight lows dip into the upper 60s. Monday’s highs reach the mid to upper 80s.
We have a break from the rain on Tuesday. Wednesday through Saturday our storm chances return. High temps will be close to 90 degrees for mid-week with high humidity.
