Stormy start to the week, but nice weather aheadJune 30th, 2014 at 5:36 pm by Robb Ellis under Weather
We have had a warm and stormy start to the week, but big changes are on the way just in time for your 4th of July holiday! Isolated showers and storms will stick around through Wednesday, but after that things will dry out and cool down a bit for the rest of the week.
A strong line of storms is expected to move through central Indiana overnight. Storms are expected to be strong, with the possibility of some being severe. Strong, damaging winds and hail are the main threats associated with these storms. Temperatures will remain warm and muggy during the overnight hours with temperatures falling into the low 70s.
Parts of central Indiana have been placed under a slight risk for severe storms. Isolated strong storms can be expected with some storms potentially becoming severe. Otherwise, Tuesday will be partly cloudy and humid with temperatures in the mid 80s.
Wednesday will be mostly cloudy with the chance for a few isolated showers and storms. Temperatures will be in the low 80s during the day, and will cool off into the upper 50s overnight.
4th of July:
For the remainder of the week, an area of high pressure is expected to build in over central Indiana. This will dry things out, and lower the temperatures to around 80 degrees. The 4th of July looks to be a pleasant day with mostly sunny skies and a high temperature of 80 degrees. Perfect weather for spending the day outside and enjoying the holiday!
