Moderate Risk for Severe Weather Today / This Evening

OVERVIEW:  Most of central Indiana is under a Moderate Risk for severe storms later today and this evening.  A potent storm system will move into the state today,  Rain chances will mainly come in 2 waves.  Along the leading edge of warmer air this morning, we could see some strong thunderstorms.  After that, we will see some breaks, and if we see a lot of sunshine, that could enhance the chances of severe thunderstorms by this evening.


TIMING:  The highest threat of severe weather could happen anytime after 5pm and last through Midnight.

THREATS:  Damaging Wind, Large Hail are the biggest threats.  However, there is a threat of tornadoes to develop, and we could see some Flash Flooding as well.

POTENTIAL IMPACTS:  Large Hail could damaged unprotected property left outdoors.  There is a higher chance of at least brief power outages across central Indiana.  Damaging Wind and Tornadoes would have the potential to damage structures.
