Afternoon downpours bring minor floodingJuly 29th, 2014 at 9:17 pm by Robb Ellis under Uncategorized, Weather
Heavy rain from afternoon thunderstorms came down more quickly than many locations could handle. The storms started near Kokomo and Tipton and moved south across metro Indy on Tuesday afternoon.
In Westfield, State Road 32 had up to a half of a foot of standing water at one point, along with some pea sized hail.
In Broad Ripple, heavy rain and poor drainage led to some minor street flooding even after the storms passed.
Officially at the airport, only 0.14″ of rain fell. But many locations received .5″ to 1″ of rain.
