Chance of strong storms Tuesday, warmer through the weekendAugust 18th, 2014 at 6:51 pm by Robb Ellis under Weather
A more summer-like pattern emerges this week with warmer temperatures and higher humidity translating into storm chances for most of the week.
Partly cloudy skies will continue along with muggy conditions. While a rain shower is still possible, especially in southern Indiana, rain chances remain small.
Tuesday:Most of the day will be warmer and humid, with a mix of sun and clouds. An upper level impulse will slide through late in the afternoon and bring a chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms. While the Storm Prediction Center keeps a Slight Risk of severe weather over the southern half of the state on Tuesday, that chance remains marginal. However, conditions will have to be monitored through the afternoon and evening as storms develop.
Isolated thunderstorms are possible as high temperatures return to the upper 80s. Lows near 70.
Thursday and Friday:
More scattered showers and storms with highs in the upper 80s and lows near 70.
High temperatures are forecast to be near or just above 90 degrees this weekend with isolated storm chances on Saturday. If we make it to 90 degrees it would be the first time this year temps at IND have made it to 90.
Rain chances return on Monday with highs staying near 90.
