Our Stormy Pattern ContinuesAugust 30th, 2014 at 6:49 pm by Pamela Gardner under Colts Forecast, Weather
Indianapolis is dry for now as we are wedged between two areas of rain. One area of rain to the south and one area of storms to the northwest. The rain and storms are moving northeast so we keep the evening dry other than a stray shower and some sprinkles. Tonight there is a better chance for rain and storms into daybreak Sunday. Sunday will bring off and on showers and storms, but we will have plenty of dry periods so don’t cancel plans.
Temperatures are in the upper 70s and lower 80s with heat index values in the low to mid 80s. Tonight we stay muggy with lows around 70º. Sunday and Monday our high temps will be in the mid 80s and still humid.
Labor Day will bring us a chance for severe weather. There is a slight risk for severe storms in northwestern Indiana with everywhere else expecting strong storms. The timing looks to be in the evening and overnight hours on Monday. Damaging wind and large hail are the main threats.
Rain lingers for Tuesday and warmer temps take over. By the second half of the work week temps will be around 90º and dry.
