National League of Cities to lose president

Not only did Greg Ballard take out an incumbent, you could argue that he beat the top mayor in the country.
That’s because Bart Peterson is the President of the National League of Cities. He’s the host for that group’s annual convention in New Orleans this week. Talk about a bittersweet task.
The theme of the Congress of Cities, which kicks off tomorrow, is Leadership.
Peterson’s term as president ends the same day as his term as mayor, December 31st.
